We are really excited because the multi talented stand up comedian also happens to be an animator and writer and for us this ticked a lot of boxes says Executive Producer Nick Wilson. Our strategy is to be relevant in a number of African Countries to increase our reach. We were excited to meet Carl Joshua Ncube at the recent Comedy Central International Comedy Festival and we instantly got along with our shared passion to growing ANIMATION on the continent.
We are excited that we have already agreed terms and have many other projects in the pipeline we are doing with Carl. My Child TV is looking to collaborate with Carl Ncube for the specific purposes of creating characters within the My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians universe that will appeal to a Zimbabwean audience.
Carl Ncube will submit storyline ideas to the My Child TV writing team to potentially be developed into episodes or series. Depending on many variables,
Carl will be called upon from time to time or on a permanent/contract basis to contribute to script development and dialogue specifically in respect(though not limited) to Zimbabwean stories and characters.
Carl Ncube will provide voice impressions for the Zimbabwean characters on the show. Where he is unable to provide suitable voice impressions in his personal capacity, he will assist in placing other Zimbabwean voice artists and/or comedians in the role of an agent.
THE SHOWS STORYLINE/PREMISE
My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians tells the story of Professor Afronaut, Africa’s top technocrat, as he pilots the maiden voyage of Africa’s first space tourism programme, together with Africa’s top leaders and celebrities. Whilst in flight, a cunning chimpanzee is released from his cage in stowage and in the ensuing bedlam the ape bites the spacecraft’s nuclear stabilizer. There is an almighty atomic explosion and all these leaders and celebrities are cross-mutated with adolescent animals. These animal-human hybrids return to Earth and are subsequently exiled to the land of Azania. It is here that Professor Afronaut founds the Nelson Mandela School for Gifted Mutants, with melodrama and comedy playing out amongst the characters with very different backgrounds and divergent personalities. My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians is Africa's answer to South Park, Family Guy and Adult Swim.
